As a Communications Coordinator for the Houston Texans, I work with departments across the organization to create internal and external communications that ensure streamlined team messaging across all platforms and audiences. I facilitate and media prep executives, coaching, and player interviews, lead all publicity efforts for the Club’s international media initiatives, including in Mexico and regionally in the U.S, and lead all publicity efforts for Houston Texans Cheerleaders and Club mascot, TORO. In addition, I spearhead the training and development of the department’s year-long interns, oversee the development of the weekly game entertainment release, and contribute to postgame notes and weekly releases.

Responsibilities:

• Organizational Public Messaging: Edit internal and external communications to ensure streamlined team messaging across all platforms and audiences.

• Influencer Marketing: Coordinate collaborative opportunities between high profile athletes and influencers for content creation and marketing efforts 

• International Marketing: Lead all publicity efforts for the Club’s international media efforts and initiatives, including Mexico and regionally in the U.S.

• Social Media Content: Review and approve social media content posted on behalf of the organization

• Media Preparation: Train and media prepare Texans players, coaches and team executives in effective communication techniques for interviews and potential crisis

• Team Management: Lead training, mentoring and development of the department’s year-long interns and gameday staff

• Analytic Research: Collect statistical research to evaluate organizational production and supplemental content to create more brand awareness for favorable public image

• Monitor Channel Growth: Track and monitor content growth across local and national media channels

• Community Events: Create media press releases for Texans community events and serve as the point of contact for community player appearances at events
